Hannah Hein, PMP

Hannah Hein joined Knexus as the Senior Director of Operations in October 2023. Hannah has fourteen years of experience leading teams through change and growth with creative solutions and technical expertise. Her passion lies in enabling teams to deploy comprehensive, yet simple technical solutions to the public sector. She has worked in risk mitigation in National Security for the last ten years.

Before joining Knexus, Hannah was the Director of Defense Programs at Exiger in McLean, Virginia. Here, she worked with dozens of government agencies to deploy highly technical and complex software to identify risks and vulnerabilities within the Department of Defense’s (DoD) supply chain. While at Exiger, Hannah grew her client base by over 2000% by identifying new software applications, developing new analytical products, and addressing new markets.

Prior to Exiger, Hannah worked at Haystax Technology, also in McLean, Virginia. At Haystax, Hannah worked with Bayesian models to detect and mitigate the personnel security risk posed by U.S. government employees holding security clearances. This comprehensive personnel security effort integrated statistical methods and psychological concepts. Prior to Haystax technology, Hannah established her foundation in personnel security while working for Big Sky Associates in Washington, D.C. where she implemented solutions to improve the clearance process and decrease the investigation timeline between clearance application to adjudication decision.

Before Big Sky Associates, Hannah served as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer (SWO-N) in the United States Navy. She deployed to the Mediterranean and Red Seas and graduated from Nuclear Power School in Charleston, SC. She is a qualified SWO and led 75 Sailors during her shipboard assignments through complex and dangerous evolutions.

In her personal time, Hannah co-founded Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge and served as their Technology Coordinator. She identified manual bottlenecks within the organization and implemented technical solutions to streamline the pipeline from the first client meeting to the final dog adoption. She fostered over 70 dogs in her home and assisted in getting 300+ dogs adopted in central Virginia.

Hannah is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY.
