Jim Thompson

As President and Chief Growth Officer (CGO) of Knexus, Jim Thompson leads the company’s strategic growth initiatives and oversees core operational systems and processes. With over two decades of experience in aerospace, defense, and government services markets, Jim has a track record of delivering exceptional results for clients and investors.

Before joining Knexus, Jim was a co-founder of 202 Group LLC, a data analytics firm that served both public and private sector clients. Under his leadership, 202 Group rapidly developed and scaled its technology for the DoD through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, progressing from Phase I to III in less than 12 months and capturing over $50 million in DoD contracts over three years. This success culminated in the acquisition of 202 Group by BlueVoyant in 2021.

Jim was previously a Principal at Avascent (now Oliver Wyman), where he led over 100 engagements spanning growth strategy, go-to-market strategy, M&A due diligence, competitive assessment, and price-to-win analysis for Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at SM&A and Booz Allen Hamilton, following six years of active duty service as an Acquisition Manager in the US Air Force.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the US Air Force Academy and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Southern California (USC). In 2024, Jim became a certified Pinnacle Business Guide.
